Not only can you change app icons with your own shortcuts, customize app icons even further, and place widgets on your home screen, but iOS 14 also lets you create custom widgets and welcomes support for third-party widgets for users to try out.

In this post, we'll explain how to add a preset widget on iOS 14. We'll also show you different ways to create custom widgets based on what you want to display on your home screen.

To add a preset widget to your Home screen, tap and hold an empty spot on your Home screen until the apps and widgets on your Home screen start to jiggle. When that happens, tap the Plus icon in the upper-right (or upper-left) corner and select a widget from the list of preset widgets available for the Apple apps that come standard on your iPhone.
