Guardians are some of the toughest enemies in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. There is no single way to defeat Guardians in BOTW. You can use different combinations of weapons, attacks and defenses depending on the Guardian you are fighting, where the fight takes place and your personal play style.

Works against: All guards

These awesome weapons aren’t available until you get Guardians or Ancient Weapons by defeating a Guardian or purchasing Ancient Weapons, but they’re one of the best and most effective ways to defeat Guardians. Guardians and Ancient Weapons are characterized by their blue glow and a slight buzz when equipped. Ancient Weapons you purchase do more damage than those you get from Guardians, but they’re all much more effective and durable than regular weapons when fighting Guardians.
