It is likely that players are chopping down the wrong trees, as not all trees will yield wood blocks. Since it plays a large role for players after the tutorial is over, players will need to learn how this works. While the tutorial mentions a few things about obtaining wood blocks, players may have missed this, so this guide has covered everything needed to identify the specific trees.
When looking for logs in Soulmask, look for a tree with spike-like features and you can use your axe to chop it down. They are scattered throughout the area and once players know what to look for, it will be fairly easy to get logs. Players can also find trees with gray bark later on and chopping these down will also yield logs.
But before you go looking for these trees, make sure you have crafted the axe. The stone axe is the first one you can craft and you will need 3 stones and 1 branch to do this from the items menu.
