Two of the biggest enemies in Super Earth are insects and robots. When you start the game, you’re basically taken to the larger side of the map, which doesn’t seem to have any vending machines. But when you get the daily mission to kill Scout Striders in Helldivers 2, you’ll actually start looking for them. Here’s how to find them, and also how to defeat them to complete your daily tasks.

You'll find Scout Striders on the Automatons side of the map. Since they're robots, you won't find them on planets that are full of bugs. Also, make sure you're playing on Medium difficulty or higher to encounter them.
The reason you're on the wrong map could possibly be due to a mistranslation. See this comment from u/G0-DVL. They explain how the French translation for the term is insect. But you have to fight robots instead.
The best way to identify Scout Striders is to think of them as AT-ST Walkers from Star Wars. However, for those who haven’t seen those movies, these are giant bipedal robots or in this case vehicles. However, unlike AT-ST, Scout Striders have their backs open, where you can find a Robot that controls the machine’s legs and weapons.
