Moss can be found on trees and weeds around the map and on your farm. It can appear on all different types of trees and can look slightly different on the trunk depending on the type of tree. Moss is not dependent on the season or time of day. You can remove moss using tools such as axes, weapons such as swords or even explosives.

Green Rain is a weather type that can stimulate moss growth on trees. The moss will also grow on weeds on your farm or on the map. The Green Rain weather type occurs randomly, regardless of the season.
