Microphone echo problems can occur in several ways:

The most common cause of an echo microphone is placing your microphone too close to your speakers. This is common with external microphones, which you can place anywhere in your workspace.

It’s less likely to happen with a headset, as most headsets use directional microphones, which are less likely to pick up ambient noise. However, cheaper headsets may not have this feature. If the headset volume is too high, the microphone may pick up noise (such as your own voice) from the earbuds.
