Aside from all the brutal things your characters do to survive, catching fish in Tarisland remains the non-violent stuff. The bodies of water scattered throughout this game hide various fish of varying rarities that are worth consuming. You can consume them not only to regain HP, but also certain buffs such as reduced cooldown, instant Vigor recovery, etc. Fishing, however, is not something you can do right from the start. Instead, you will need a fishing rod to do so. To help you get a fishing rod and catch fish in Tarisland, we have created this guide for you.

To get a fishing rod, you will need to complete the storyline (missions) until you are asked to talk to an NPC named Black Gun. This NPC is a fisherman and you will be asked to interact with him in the Silverlit. After your first conversation with Black Gun, he will give you a basic fishing rod to get you started. Not only that, he will also give you instructions for your tutorial fishing segment.

Now that you have the rod, let's look at how to use it to catch fish.

Once you have the rod, make sure that you have it on your hotbar. You can do this by selecting it in your inventory. After placing the rod on your hotbar, go to a body of water and click on it. You will now be asked to attach a bait to the hook and cast it into the water.
