If you want to get the three-star ending (or the "true" ending) in Five Nights at Freddy's: Into the Pit, you'll need to keep an eye out for various items and tasks as you play to ensure you unlock that specific ending.
While previous games in the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise required you to complete the hardest difficulty in order to unlock their respective "true" endings, that thankfully isn't the case with FNAF Into the Pit. You don't have to complete the game on Nightmare difficulty to get this ending. You can do it on the lowest difficulty if you want, and grab the "Family Fun Night" achievement while you're at it.
