The Axe Talisman is a great way to enhance your physical melee attacks in Elden Ring, and it's one of the first talismans you can obtain. This guide will show you how and where to get this item in Shadow of the Erdtree.

You can find the Axe Talisman in Mistwood Ruins, southeast of Limgrave. You can also get there via the Mistwood Outskirts Site of Grace. This is east of the lake and can be found in the lower left corner of the map, which you can reach early in Elden Ring.

From the Site of Grace, head to Torrent and head south, avoiding several Runebears along the way. Keep going straight until you enter the ruins, and you’ll soon notice a sleeping Runebear nearby. If you’re just starting out, the bear will be tough to defeat; it does a lot of damage and has a ton of health, so it’s best to avoid it. However, if you’ve gone far past the Limgrave area and are only heading back to get the item, the bear shouldn’t be a problem.

Go around the bear and you will find a lit staircase leading to an underground cave. As you go down the cave the bear will wake up, so if you want to avoid him your best bet is to quickly run down the stairs and open the iron door at the end. You will see a chest in the middle of the next room. Open it and you will receive the Axe Talisman.
