How to Upgrade to Windows 11 for FREE
Windows 11 is Microsoft’s latest and greatest desktop operating system, and Windows 10 only has a few more years to go before support ends, but that doesn’t mean you have to shell out more money. There are several ways to get Windows 11 for free, and we’ve listed some of the most common ones below.
To get Windows 11 for free, you’ll need to be running Windows 10 and also have a computer that meets the minimum requirements. Windows 11 has some particularly strict requirements, including a CPU with at least an 8th-generation Intel Coffee Lake or a 2nd-generation AMD Zen CPU. You’ll also need either a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 or a CPU with a firmware TPM (fTPM).
If you have a CPU with fTPM, you can enable it from the BIOS or UEFI menu. If the option is not there, there is a good chance that an upcoming BIOS update will add it if your hardware supports it.
