After completing Nightingale's character creation and tutorial, you'll be able to build your estate in an Abeyance Realm. While you may be tempted to destroy misplaced structures by whacking them with an axe or pickaxe, you can press X to enter Build Mode, which allows you to copy, move, or delete structures with the press of a button. A new hotbar (pictured above) will appear at the bottom of your screen, similar to the one you use when placing structures, displaying your options and the structure limits of your estate.
Build Mode is much faster than manually breaking objects and preserves the durability of your tools. Here are all the ways you can use Build Mode in Nightingale.
To remove a structure from your base, enter build mode, approach the object, and press V. A trash can icon (pictured above) will appear on your screen; you must hold the V key until the bar around this icon fills up. This feature gives you the chance to refrain from destroying the structure if you change your mind. Destroyed structures drop the resources used to create them onto the ground.
