EMAIL files can be opened by Windows Live Mail, part of the old, free Windows Essentials suite. An older version of this program, Outlook Express, can also open EMAIL files.
If you have trouble opening the file, try renaming it to the EML file extension. Most modern email programs will only recognize email files that end with that extension, even though they may also support EMAIL files. Changing the file suffix to EML should allow the program to open the file.
Another way to open an EMAIL file is with an online file viewer such as encryptomatic. However, this only supports EML and MSG files, so you will need to rename the file as described above and then upload that file.
