It’s entirely up to you whether you want to use it, sell it, or Salvage it to gain resources and affixes. Salvaging is a lesser-known method in this game, as there’s no direct way. Instead, you’ll need to head to the Forge and use the Rune of Shattering. This may sound like a lot to do at first, but once you get the hang of it, it’s a piece of cake.

As I said, you need the Rune of Shattering for Salvaging items. It’s good if you already have it, but if you don’t, you’ll need to find it first. Rune of Shattering can be purchased from merchants around the map by spending some gold. You can also find it, like any other item, via drops.

Once you have the Rune of Shattering, you need to choose what you want to salvage in the final era. Be careful, because the salvaged item is gone permanently. So press the “F” key to open the Forge, that anvil icon on the screen. In the Forge, place the item you want to salvage into the Gear slot on the left side of the screen.
