These fragments are locked away for you until you can find them during your journey in The Final Shape. Unlike other fragments, these can be easier to unlock but harder to find. While they can take some time to find, they’re much easier than completing simple quests. It’s all about playing through Destiny 2’s expansion story and equipping them to your character.
The Prismatic Fragments are scattered throughout the various campaign missions in Destiny 2's The Final Shape and the open-world region of The Pale Heart. You can complete these on any difficulty, but you will need to track them down. For those looking to complete The Final Shape on Legendary difficulty, I recommend doing so and then replaying the campaign on standard difficulty for these Prismatic chests.
