The developers of Final Fantasy XIV have seen the response to the wing mod accessories and have answered an age-old request: players can now obtain personalized wings as a mount in Dawntrail, starting with the Wings of Ruin from the expansion's first Extreme Trial.

First, you'll need to unlock Dawntrail's first extreme trial, Worqor Lar Dor (Extreme), by talking to the Wandering Minstrel in Tuliyollal. You'll find him hanging out by the stairs near the For'ard Cabins with the unlock quest for Worqor Lar Dor and Everkeep (Extreme), which drops the Wings of Resolve mount.

Both unlock quests require you to have completed all Dawntrail Main Scenario Quests. You also need to be at least ilvl 690 in FFXIV to participate. Technically, the ilvl 690 Artifact gear and Epochal accessories are enough to participate in the trial. However, the fight does have some incredibly hard-hitting raidwides, so you may want to equip yourself with the highest ilvl possible for comfort.

This is especially true for healers and tanks. While the enrage timer is generous enough to beat with DPS party members in a mix of artifacts and Neo Kingdom gear, there are multiple mechanics where you have to survive three to six consecutive hits of heavy damage.
