In addition to a much-needed vacation across the continent of Tural, Final Fantasy XIV's Dawntrail expansion brings with it two additional jobs for players to try out – Viper and Pictomancer. If you're wondering where to start, here's our handy guide to unlocking Viper and Pictomancer job quests in FFXIV Dawntrail.

If you're looking to try out the Viper job for the first time, you'll first need to find the Job Quest that unlocks it for your character. Head to Ul'dah – Steps of Nald and seek out an NPC named Worried Weaver (X:9.3, Y:9.2), not far from the Main Aetheryte and near the Pugilists' Guild (as seen above). There you can pick up and start the quest called "Enter the Viper".

The Viper job falls under the melee DPS category and uses Scouting gear sets, similar to Ninja. The aforementioned quest rewards players with a starting gear set for Viper, with all subsequent gear being available to purchase by trading Allagan Tomestones of Aesthetic or by purchasing crafted recipe gear from the Market Board.

If you're more interested in picking up a giant brush for Pictomancer, there's a specific Job Quest for that as well. Head to Old Gridania and look for an NPC named Cheerless Hearer at (X:8.0, Y:10.3), who's located at Nophica's Altar near the Conjurer's Guild (as seen above). Pick up the quest "The Joy of Pictomancy" from them and complete it to unlock the job for your character.
