You’re encouraged to play Pokémon Go with friends and family, making it easier for everyone to level up and work together. To make this feature more accessible, Niantic has added an item-sharing feature, which you can only use in a group with others.

Don’t expect to be able to share some of your rarest items with friends. Instead, there will only be a few available to give to another person, and the two of you will also need to meet some additional requirements. However, the feature is a great way for two players to help each other out while playing Pokémon Go, especially if one of them is more experienced.

If you want to share an item with another player in Pokémon Go, make sure you're in a party. You can do this once you've reached Trainer Level 15. Once you and your friends have done this, go to your Trainer profile and click on the party icon at the top right of the screen. You can then create a party using the numeric code you're given or the QR code the Pokémon Go app gives you. Share this with the other members of your party, and they should join you.

From here, you can exchange items with everyone in your party. It’s a great way to help everyone keep track of their levels and make it easier to catch wild Pokémon that everyone finds during their adventure. However, you can’t share every item in your inventory. There are only a few that you can give to another player in Pokémon Go.
