I Used to be Funny is a comedy drama film that revolves around Sam, a comedian who previously worked as a nanny. As part of her job as a nanny, she once received an offer from an agency to take care of a teenager, Brooke. The teenager's mother was suffering from an illness, so her father, Cameron, hired Sam to provide her with love and care. In the present, Sam learns that Brooke has disappeared and is unsure whether he should help find her or not.
