Yesterday’s midseason patch added huge buffs to the tank role, which has been struggling since Blizzard decided to switch to five-vs-five after the original game was six-vs-six. With only one tank on the field, they’re a focal point in every fight, and survival is a concern.

But after the latest update, many players seem to think Blizzard went too far. For example, one player pointed out that Ramattra now effectively has 1,000 HP in Nemesis form thanks to his buffs and general tank role buffs.

OW2’s tanking buffs included an improvement to ultimate generation and a nerf to the DPS passive, which made tanks take more damage. The role now feels overdone, and the calls for a return to six-on-six are louder than ever.
