Apple Care+ in 2023! (Still Worth Buying?) (Review)

The AppleCare+ program lets you pay a flat fee or a monthly recurring subscription to offset the cost of repairs to your iPhone, iPad, Mac, or other Apple device. It includes perks like priority service from Apple’s support team, but the real reason we buy it is that it makes repairs much, much cheaper. But is it just a way to boost Apple’s profit margins while artificially inflating repair costs, or is it really the only extended warranty you should ever buy?

Let’s take a look at some of Apple’s repair prices. For example, a new battery for the just-announced iPad Pro costs $199, or $0 with AppleCare+. “Other damage” for the previous-generation iPad Pro costs $799 out of pocket, or just $49 with AppleCare+.
