The release of Amazon Prime’s Fallout TV show in April brought returning and new players back to the wastelands. Many of them decided to visit the Commonwealth, where Fallout 4 is set, and wondered whether it would be possible to enjoy it in multiplayer mode or not.

Fallout 4, released in 2015, was one of the best games of the year, after the success of previous installments in the franchise. This time around, Bethesda decided to revise some key mechanics, such as Power Armor, but multiplayer is a different story.

Unfortunately, for those looking to play Fallout 4 with friends, we have some bad news: Fallout 4 is a strictly single-player game. It was designed from the start as an action role-playing adventure, but it was not intended as a multiplayer adventure, unlike the next installment in the series, Fallout 76.

Those who follow the franchise know that mods are a crucial part of the community, often improving various parts of the gameplay. Despite seeing multiple announcements for working Fallout 4 multiplayer mods since the original release, we haven’t been able to find any that actually work.
