Senate President Jinggoy Ejercito Estrada has filed a resolution to award gymnast Carlos Yulo the Senate Medal of Excellence.

“Yulo’s extraordinary performance in the world’s biggest sporting event should be celebrated by the entire nation as it is a testament to the outstanding skills and indomitable spirit of the Filipino people,” Estrada said in Senate Resolution No. 1103.
“His glorious success is a shining example of what hard work, discipline, perseverance and dedication to excellence can achieve,” he stressed.
The senator wanted to give Yulo the Senate's highest accolade after the Filipino gymnast won two gold medals at the Paris Olympics.
