"He means it, all this stuff about, if we lose there's going to be carnage," Biden said in an interview with CBS News' Robert Costa today. A clip aired on CBS News 24/7's America Decides, and the full interview airs on CBS Sunday Morning.

"Look what they're trying to do now in the local precincts where people are counting votes, electing or putting in place people who are going to count votes, right?" Biden said. "You can't just love your country when you're winning."

Costa said the interview was "in his perspective a preparation for a moment in time just on the horizon, should Trump be defeated, where this country is not just going to be taking a merry stroll toward January 2025. A peaceful transition of power is at the heart of the American democratic process."
