One of the most-watched streaming events of 2024 has finally come to an end after Kai Cenat captured Elden Ring today.

Many of the streamer’s fans thought the feat was impossible, especially considering the effects of burnout over the course of the past week. However, Cenat persevered and eventually defeated the Elden Beast and crossed the finish line.

Cenat, who began his quest to beat Elden Ring in a "100+ hour stream" on May 10, finally finished the game a week later. It took him over 166 hours to complete the task, and he died over 1,700 times in the process, many of them to the notoriously difficult boss Malenia.

Cenat’s victory over Malenia was practically a cultural event on the internet yesterday, with the streamer nearly moved to tears after the encounter. While many Elden Ring players opt to fight Malenia after defeating the story’s final boss, the Elden Beast, Cenat took a somewhat unorthodox route by first defeating the notoriously challenging Malenia before putting an official capper on his run with the actual fight against the final boss.
