Jaime Harrison made the announcement during a virtual event with Harris supporters.

“I am so proud to confirm that Vice President Harris received more than a majority of the votes of all delegates at the convention and will be the Democratic Party nominee after voting concludes on Monday,” Harrison said during the call.

Harris, who was also present at the meeting, said she will formally accept the nomination next week.
