Debates over which Pokémon is the strongest have been circulating since the franchise launched in 1996, and hypothetical questions have only grown as more games and Pokémon are released. But have you ever wondered if a Legendary Pokémon could take the court and take on LeBron James in a one-on-one matchup?

Stephen A Smith on Mewtwo VS Lebron

ESPN sports personality Stephen A. Smith puts out hours of content every day, from his headliner First Take broadcast to his own show on YouTube and other platforms. In recent months, Smith has taken to fielding broader questions from his audience that transcend sports. From a viral moment showing off his knowledge of the Cars’ Pistons Cup history to dissecting the best athlete in SpongeBob SquarePants, these segments quickly get out of hand. And that happened again today.

During his May 20 taping on The Stephen A. Smith Show , Smith was asked if he thought the legendary Pokémon Mewtwo could take on NBA superstar LeBron James in a one-on-one basketball game. And while Smith's demonstration of Pokémon knowledge is about as basic as some of his analysis on ESPN's NBA Playoff halftime show, he does make some good points.

Smith noted that Mewtwo may be smaller than LeBron, but he carries more weight on paper. He then went on to elaborate on some of the moves and abilities mentioned in the image shared on the show.
