Flagship phones are so expensive these days that many consumers think that a good phone doesn’t have to be that expensive. Fortunately, there are good alternatives to high-end devices, such as the LG Q6. This older phone aims to offer the full experience of modern smartphones at an affordable price. It has a fairly modern design and a nice big screen with specs that sit on the mid-range side. The question is, can it offer a compelling enough experience to distract your eyes from newer, more expensive devices, and can it compete with other budget options? The LG Q6 is surprisingly solid, with a build quality you don’t normally associate with phones in this price range. It may not be waterproof or rated for durability, but it feels like it could handle a beating. Durability is helped by the mostly plastic construction, which should be less slippery than more expensive glass phones and also won’t shatter. It does, however, pick up fingerprints and scratches very easily, so you’ll want to invest in a case to prevent cosmetic damage.

This is a small phone compared to many of today’s phablets. The 5.5-inch display makes it easy to use with one hand without having to stretch your hand across the screen. It even fits in a small pocket. We definitely liked the form factor and the iPhone-like silver border of the device.
