Riot Games is continually improving the Arena formula by introducing new gameplay systems, augments, and items. Patches 14.14 and 14.15 are no exception, adding a host of new additions to Arena, as well as some substantial buffs and nerfs.

New augments and fresh items are ready for Arena. Which ones will you take?👀

The announcement was made on June 8 by Riot lead gameplay designer Matt "Phroxzon" Leung-Harrison over on X (formerly Twitter). He outlined the changes coming in Patch 14.14, detailing which champions and items would be getting buffed or weakened. Phenomenal Evil and Urf's Champion are among the more notable Augments getting a boost in the next patch, while Duskblade and Prowler's are the targets of nerfs. Notorious Arena-dominant champions are also targeted, including Garen, Naafiri, Pyke, Zed, and Master Yi.

As for what’s coming in Patch 14.15, Riot Rogue Fool and Riot Twin Enso have both announced new Augments over the past week. Fire Sale allows players to sell all of their non-quest items for 100 percent of their value, Ultimate Roulette replaces the “Flee” summoner spell with what’s presumably a random Ultimate spell, Fruits of your Labor buffs the effect of healing flowers, and so on. Only a handful of Augments have been revealed so far, but it’s still a long way to go until July 31st, when they launch as part of League Patch 14.15.

Riot has made a sustained effort to improve the Arena game mode, potentially making it a permanent one to contrast the regular five-on-five Summoner’s Rift. So far, only ARAM has managed to retain its spot, as all other alternate game modes have either been swapped out or killed off entirely (I’m looking at you, Twisted Treeline and Dominion).
