Pacquiao praised Team Philippines for bringing pride and honor to the nation, calling them “true champions.”

As the Paris Olympics wrapped up on Monday, the Philippines claimed a total of four medals, including the two gold wins by historic Filipino gymnast Carlos Yulo. The two bronze medals were secured by boxers Nesthy Petecio and Aira Villegas. It is the Philippines’ best Olympic medal haul in the past century.

“To our incredible Filipino athletes who brought pride to our nation at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, our deepest gratitude. You showed us that true champions are not measured by medals alone, but by the courage, dedication, and heart you put into every moment,” the former senator said in an Instagram post.
