President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has had enough of the controversial offshore gambling activities initially allowed by his predecessor, former President Rodrigo Duterte.

The President has announced a ban on Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) in the country over concerns about illegal activities, saying they must cease operations by the end of the year.
The major announcement was made during the President's third State of the Nation Address (SONA).
“As of today, all POGOs are banned,” Marcos said, earning loud applause from lawmakers.
