As Call of Duty fans await Black Ops 6 and its beta later this month, many are returning to a recent remake thanks to a mod that catapulted the 2017 title to Steam's best-selling list.

A rebirth of the original Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer actually made it into the 2017 release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, with a PC mod called H2M. But it’s much more than just a new coat of paint.

The 2017 CoD 4 remaster included a multiplayer component, while the 2020 MW2 remaster only included the 2009 campaign. This mod attempts to remedy that, and it’s apparently working, as the 2017 remaster has ended up in second place on Steam’s best-seller list, even above BO6.
