Last week, 1047 Games dropped a cryptic teaser that led many to speculate that a new Splitgate project was in the works. Today, that has been officially confirmed, with Splitgate 2 revealed in a dynamic announcement trailer.

Much of the original Splitgate’s praise came from its ability to innovate the arena shooter genre while still maintaining what people loved about FPS titles in the first place: quality gunplay. That seems to have carried over into the surprising sequel, as does the game’s central tenet: fast-paced teleporting gameplay.
Splitgate stood out from the shooter pack with its portal-based gameplay when it first hit the scene in 2019, with the mechanic particularly interesting because you could create or disable each other’s portals. Splitgate 2 looks set to offer more of the same, albeit with some tweaks.
We've already seen a little bit of the sequel in a flashy trailer, which at least proves that Splitgate 2 has a much bigger budget than the previous installment.
