Ghanima is a bilingual esthetician from Chicago, living in the Dominican Republic. As a stylist and beauty consultant, she has been in the industry for decades, doing hair and makeup, product formulation, and consulting. But for the past seven years, my focus has been on research and writing. It has taken her everywhere from brow bars to beauty subscription boxes, body contouring clinics to black hair sites, microneedling newsletters to Amazon bestseller lists. You could say she has come full circle! Her knowledge happily encompasses all skin and hair types, most procedures, and all sorts of products, but she still continues to try new ones and invent her own.

Let's talk about HAIR LOSS as a hijabi

Once you adopt this routine, the moisture will be locked into your hair and scalp and hijab hair loss will not be as much of a threat.

Covering your hair doesn’t mean you have to compromise on hair care; on the contrary, unless you follow a good hair routine, the rubbing of the scarf will cause hijabi hair to become so dry that it breaks. If you wear a hijab and notice that it is excessively dry and brittle, your hair needs specific care to prevent more serious consequences such as hair loss or bald patches in hijab.

As a stylist, I've been giving hair advice for many years, and here's my personal basic hijab hair routine that I swear by.
