Nvidia has unveiled its latest gaming GPU, the RTX 3080 Ti, which will be available starting June 3. The RTX 3080 Ti is said to be 1.5 times more powerful than its predecessor, the RTX 3080, and will retail for $1,199.
Is Nvidia's RTX 3080 Ti Still Good in 2023?
According to The Verge, the RTX 3080 Ti is a marked improvement over the RTX 3080 in every way aside from its price, which is roughly $500 more than the older model. However, the RTX 3080 Ti is also roughly $300 less than the higher-performance RTX 3090, though the biggest difference is the RTX 3090’s extra 12GB of VRAM.
There's a lot of speculation, though, about whether or not Nvidia will hit its June 3 release target. The global chip shortage is making it hard to find everything from GPUs to video game consoles, and it doesn't look like it's going to end anytime soon.
"Yes you can see it online on a page that says it's sold out but you can't buy it," said Twitter user @Leary73_. "They can't even support their current product lines, there's no point in trying because it'll sell out in a second."
