The Helldivers 2 community is still celebrating a major victory after Sony was forced to back down from plans to force Steam players to link to a PlayStation Network account. The developers may well immortalize the battle with a clever in-game item.

The CEO of Arrowhead Games Studio and the creative director of Helldivers 2, who supported the community's efforts to change the requirement to link PSN accounts, posted a design of an accidental cape from a community member as a tribute to the wave of negative reviews the game received following Sony's announcement.

The "pretty cool" design features four red bars that represent the more than 200,000 negative reviews the game received on Steam between its initial announcement on Friday and its early Monday morning withdrawal. Helldivers 2's review score consensus, which was Overwhelmingly Positive before the PSN account linking fiasco, dropped to Mixed on Sunday but has since recovered to Mostly Positive.
