During day one of Pokémon Go Fest 2024: Global, Special Backgrounds, a special postcard background that can appear behind certain Pokémon in raids, were not obtainable when using Remote Raid Passes. To compensate for this, Niantic plans to give Trainers guaranteed Special Background encounters soon.
Trainers, we have concluded an investigation that confirmed that Special Backgrounds could not be obtained from remote raids on the first day of Pokémon GO Fest 2024: Global. We apologize for the technical issue this caused. #PokémonGO
The date for the event has not yet been announced. However, Niantic did reveal some details in a social media post on X. To start, Trainers will get encounters with Ultra Beasts and Necrozma, and each Trainer will earn additional rewards depending on how many Remote Raid Passes they use on the first day of the event. Exact numbers and how things will be calculated are also unknown.
