The House of Representatives has approved on third and final reading a measure that would prohibit Internet service providers (ISPs) from forfeiting their subscribers' unused data allowance.

The proposed Roll-Over Internet Act (House Bill 10289), authored primarily by Cavite Rep. Ramon Jolo Revilla III, was approved on third reading with 198 affirmative votes. No one objected to the adoption of the measure.

With this measure, we want to assure postpaid customers that their unused data limit will not be lost, but will be carried over to the following months and can be converted into discounts at the end of the year.

The discounts can be used as payment for internet services in the following year of the subscription.
