If you were melting at the sight of Fortnite’s Waterbending mechanic during your matches and thought the Star Wars update would spell the end of this horror, think again. Prominent leaker iFiremonkey has confirmed that the mythical mechanic will remain until the end of the season.

The leaker further confirmed that all Avatar mythics will be added with the arrival of the Star Wars event in Fortnite on May 3, except for Waterbending. Seasonal Greek mythics such as Zeus Lightning Bolt, Chain of Hades, and Wings of Icarus will also be added to Fortnite's loot pool.

“I think I’m going to cry because this is so broken,” said one player on X (formerly Twitter). Another said they couldn’t wait to “get lasered from 300 meters away in 0.8 seconds,” demonstrating the oppressive nature of Fortnite’s Waterbending mythology. Another player on the Fortnite subreddit said, “Every game I get killed with waterbending and it’s getting kind of annoying.”

One of the first added Avatar mythics, Korra’s Waterbending is perhaps the best offensive mythic. It offers razor-sharp accuracy with zero fallout, making it an incredible choice for mid- to long-range combat. After the mythic was added in the v29.10 update, Epic later increased its fire rate, damage, headshot multiplier, and doubled its projectile speed in an April 5th hotfix, making it even more oppressive and adding to players’ burning misery.
