A video purportedly showing Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos inhaling white powder has been criticized as "fake" and "malicious." Investigators released close-up footage of his ear Tuesday to prove it wasn't him.

The clip, featuring a dark-haired man, was part of a video shown at a rally in Los Angeles organized by a political group with ties to Marcos' predecessor Rodrigo Duterte.

The meeting was streamed live on the Facebook page of the pro-Duterte broadcaster SMNI in the Philippines on Monday morning local time, hours before Marcos was scheduled to deliver his annual State of the Nation address to Congress.

“It is clear from the video that this is not our president. Their video is fake and clearly not real,” Defense Minister Gilberto Teodoro said Monday after the video went viral on social media.
