The governments of the Philippines and India have agreed to strengthen cooperation in the field of financial technology (FinTech).

Singapore and Kenya sign MoU on fintech

Finance Secretary Benjamin Diokno and Indian Ambassador to the Philippines Shambhu Santha Kumaran signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the Department of Finance (DOF) office in Manila on June 19.

“Today’s event marks an important milestone in bilateral relations between India and the Philippines, just in time for the upcoming 5th Philippines-India Joint Commission on Bilateral Cooperation that will take place in New Delhi, India, in a few days,” Diokno said.

The MOU provides for the establishment of a Joint Working Group (JWG) on FinTech with the Ministry of Finance of the Government of India (GOI).
