Quake II is back with a remastered version for all major platforms. The game is packed with classic levels and also includes Quake II 64 in its entirety.

Quake 2 on the Nintendo Switch is absolutely INSANE!

The original Quake was one of the first truly 3D shooters to make a splash on PC, and now its more refined sequel, Quake II, is destined for just about every modern platform you can think of. Led by Nightdive Studios, this remaster comes packed with extra mission packs, all of Midway’s Quake II 64 ports, and a brand new Call of the Machine expansion.

As you might expect from a modern game release from 1997, Quake II’s visuals have been updated to scale with HD resolutions and widescreen displays. However, enemy models and animations have also been improved over their originals, the lighting has been improved, and support for both anti-aliasing and depth of field has been added. So basically, at first glance, it still looks a bit like the original game, but everything appears sharper, moves more fluidly, and is more dynamically lit.

In addition to the requisite visual updates, Quake II also includes the Ground Zero and The Reckoning mission packs from the original. The full version of Quake II 64, which featured a number of new levels compared to its PC counterpart, is also included.
