The ongoing Chinese costume drama Are You the One, starring Zhang Wanyi and Wang Churan, released its first batch of episodes on Monday, August 12, 2024. It tells the story of Liu Mian Tang (Wang Churan) who mistakes Cui Xing Zhou (Zhang Wanyi) for her husband after waking up from a life-threatening coma. Xing Zhou, who saved Mian Tang from her enemies, decides to play along and continues to pose as her husband.

Episode one focuses on Mian Tang who begins to question her relationship with Xing Zhou. Furthermore, his strong leadership skills are revealed. When bandits brutally attack his army at night, he leads them to counter the attack like a true general. Although a masked assassin shoots an arrow at him that almost goes through his throat, he manages to catch it with his bare hand.

The scene cuts short to show the views of the picturesque town of Lingquan. A carriage pulls up in front of the Cui Mansion. Mian Tang steps out of the vehicle with her maid. Her beauty causes the townspeople to admire her and the women to gossip about her whereabouts. Mian Tang’s maid advises her to spend time in peace, as she has a cranial blockage. She can only remember fragments of the day of her wedding. The groom, Cui Jiu, is a wealthy and handsome man who sold all his possessions in the capital to move to this small town for Mian Tang.

After she calmed down, Mian Tang remembers the first time she looked at Xing Zhou. She had just woken up from a coma, and Xing Zhou was the first person she saw. He had her bag wrapped tightly around his waist. He anxiously inquired about her condition and asked the doctor to nurse her back to health. When Mian Tang called him her husband, he looked at her strangely, but he quickly calmed himself down and smiled at her.
