League of Legends Patch 14.15 aims to put a stop to dual ADC comps, specifically in high-elo and competitive games, according to lead designer Matt “Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison. Phroxzon announced the changes at X, and mentioned more nerfs to address the high prevalence of dual ADC comps.

In the LCS alone, Tristana has a 93% pick and ban presence as the second most picked champion in the mid lane, according to Gol.gg. Phroxzon says that these compositions were heavily favored at "very high MMR," so Riot wants to continue the work it's been doing to address that issue in Patch 14.13.

Statikk Shiv and Kraken Slayer are the dominant first items seen in most games in the league. These items are getting nerfs in League Patch 14.15, alongside Fleet Footwork's healing to "reduce the power of the 1 item spike." Champions like Tristana and Zeri benefited greatly from these items and were able to use spikes with them.

“While we think the individual champion changes and the changes to life absorption from the previous patch will help with this, we’re continuing with further changes to improve ADC’s early game,” Phroxzon added.
