According to a May 5 report by independent Russian media outlet The Moscow Times, Bazhutova was arrested in mid-2023 after pro-war bloggers reported her to authorities over her stream. It took less than a year for the trial and conviction to be approved.

The official charge against Anna Bazhutova in a Moscow court is for spreading false information about the Russian military. There is currently no public video of YokoBovich’s stream available, but the streamer is said to have spoken to residents of Bucha, a town in the wider Kiev Oblast that saw heavy fighting in the early months of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, about what they saw.
