The League of Legends community today condemned the “sick and disgusting” toxicity targeting professional players after G2 Esports botlaner Hans Sama received an “absurd amount of death threats” following his team’s best-of-five series loss to T1 at the 2024 Mid-Season Invitational last week.

G2 manager Romain Bigeard revealed in an interview with MGG TV on May 14 that Hans Sama received multiple death threats because of his appearance in this series.
It's one thing to criticize players for their performances or poor item choices, and yes, there may have been a few of those moments during this BO5 against T1. However, death threats are never the right response, and most League fans agree with that, with many already stating that "there is a line that cannot be crossed." For many, the people making death threats against Hans Sama online have crossed that line by a wide margin.
Players on Reddit called the behavior of those who targeted Hans Sama for his performance on May 10 "disgusting" and "shit," with many calling for immediate action.
