The League of Legends world has had one thing in common since Riot Games warned of a massive crackdown earlier this week: soft-inting.

Toxic League players were put to the test when Riot’s game director declared soft-inting one of the “biggest problems in the game” and asked the community how severely someone caught in violation should be punished.
This quickly sent the fandom into a panic, with many fearing they would be banned for struggling in the ranked or casual lobby, while others called for pinged players to be permanently banned. Throughout the frenzy, it quickly became apparent that there was no single answer as to what “soft-inting” even is—and after days of confusion, Riot has finally lifted the veil.
In the League team's own words, their biggest focus for this soft-inting crackdown will be on the "frustrating and obvious things" that other systems—like Vanguard—are currently struggling with. These include:
