Spotify’s podcast subscriptions are now available to all US podcasters, giving every creator the opportunity to generate revenue.

Spotify opens paid subscriptions to all US Anchor users

The streaming platform initially announced that it was testing Podcast Subscriptions in April to see if paid, subscriber-only content would be successful on Spotify. However, in an announcement on Tuesday, Spotify said that any podcaster can now use the app’s creation platform, Anchor, to create subscriber-only podcast episodes and start making money.

“In the testing period since [April], we’ve activated over 100 podcasts and found that shows across all genres and content styles offer a huge opportunity to build a paying subscriber base,” Spotify said in announcing Podcast Subscriptions.

“Our model is focused on maximizing creator revenue and delivering the widest possible reach, so creators can grow their audiences and develop deep connections with listeners.”
