Spotify officially launched its own interactive audio app on Wednesday, called Greenroom.

Spotify Greenroom is now available for free on iOS and Android devices, as a way for creators and artists to interact and have deep connections between participants in live rooms. The app differs from Spotify Podcasts, as it allows users to host live conversations on topics ranging from music and culture to sports and entertainment.

“We believe Spotify has the opportunity to not only enable live broadcasting, but also to drive discovery, fuel consumption, and accelerate the growth of the live category overall,” Spotify wrote in announcing the feature.

“Today’s unveiling of the app is an opportunity for us to lay the foundation for the exciting range of content and capabilities Spotify has in store as we move into live audio.”
