The Xbox brand continues to expand beyond just consoles and has now found a new home thanks to Amazon.

Amazon Fire Stick vs Samsung: Can This Replace an Xbox?

In a new advert that delightfully pays homage to the Scream franchise, Xbox announced that Amazon Fire Stick owners can now stream Xbox games through the new Xbox app with their Game Pass Ultimate subscription. The service will be available on the Fire TV Stick 4K and 4K Max versions, both coming in 2023. This comes after the subscription service also came to Samsung TVs two years ago, with the service available on Samsung 2020 and newer televisions.

In the ad, a woman on the phone is asked what her favorite video game is by a man who wants to play some Xbox. When she asks him, he proudly explains that “you don’t need an Xbox to play Xbox.” It’s an increasingly apt statement for the Xbox brand, as the company’s hardware sales decline despite rising profits and former Xbox exclusives pop up on other consoles, making waves in sales.
