On July 16, political streamer Destiny was banned from Kick for Hate Speech after Destiny made comments about the attempted assassination of Donald Trump and the killing of his supporters at a rally in Pennsylvania. Now, some fans are calling for double standards on the notoriously permissive platform.

Destiny banned on Kick, demonetized on X

Destiny made his stance on Trump and his followers very clear after the Pennsylvania shooting: he still doesn’t like Trump and doesn’t really care what happens to his supporters. In a stream on Kick on July 15, he reportedly said “fuck the dude, the firefighter guy,” according to Sportskeeda, referring to one of the shooting victims who died. Those and other comments on the stream were apparently enough for Kick to ban Destiny for hate speech, the streamer revealed to his followers on Twitter.

Redditors on the popular subreddit r/LivestreamFail were quick to point out how Kick has been incredibly lenient with other similar content, such as Adin Ross’s numerous outbursts telling people to commit suicide or other questionably legal streams. “So you can beat ‘pedophiles’ on streams, convince a woman to drown herself, have sex with minors, influence minors to gamble, and threaten people with murder after harassing them, but you can’t joke about people (sometimes) dying on Kick,” one user said. “Gotcha chief.”
